Dr. Lora Liang

Dr. Lora Liang is a Senior Research Fellow at Azek working on the processing technologies for low-maintenance and environmentally sustainable outdoor living products, including TimberTech® decking and Versatex® and Azek Trim®. Dr. Liang currently serves on the BOD (board of directors) of the SPE (Society of Plastic Engineers) Bioplastics & Renewable Technologies Division, and BOD of the SPE Vinyl Division, plus BOD of the SPE Flexible Packaging Division. She is the editor for the Journal of Plastic Film and Sheeting.

After earned her PhD from Michigan State University, Dr. Liang started her career at Nanocor, where she spearheaded nanocomposite technology development & commercialization. She also worked at Kraft/Mondelēz International for twelve years, as a Research Principal in the global packaging team, developing and commercializing innovative technologies spanning multiple food package formats and categories. Most recently, Dr. Liang was a Research Fellow at GAF on the processing technology development of roofing materials.

Dr. Liang actively advocates industrial collaboration across the supply chain to deliver breakthrough innovations. She holds more than 25 patents and a frequent speaker at many technical conferences.
